*Position: EDI Lead or Architect*

*Location: Sandy Springs, GA*

*Duration 6+ months*





*POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: **Principal Duties and Responsibilities: five
to eight key responsibilities/activities for which the position is
accountable*:



   - Work with IT leadership to define and execute corporate EDI strategy
   - Promote partnerships with all applicable business functions in the
   organization through EDI
   - Collaborate with SAP process teams to deliver SAP IDOC/ALE best
   practice integration
   - Collaborate and lead projects with trading partners/customers who wish
   to do business through EDI
   - Lead a team of business analysts to design, implement and support EDI
   requirements.
   - Lead process improvements within the process integration domain
   - Monitor Value Added Network (VAN) and overall network and system
   landscape
   - Manage, plan and participate in testing at all levels (unit,
   integration and end-to-end testing)
   - Manage and configure trading partner setups within GIS and SAP
   - Define and develop proper system solutions through innovation and
   process improvement
   - Define and develop GIS interface mappings for various data formats
   (EDI, SAP IDOC, Database, etc)
   - Understand, design and implement EDI functionality to support specific
   business processes where communication with third party business partners
   is required.
   - Write Unix shell scripts and monitor processes within a UNIX
   Environment
   - Develop working relationships with a diverse group of business people
   and gain an understanding of the complex nature of the Company’s business.
   Maintain familiarity with the business plans of the Company and the
   departments serviced.  Remain knowledgeable of information technology and
   Company business operations
   - Supervise, instructs, directs, and check the work of less experienced
   Business Systems Analysts.
   - Work with IT management to help in assembling project team, assigning
   individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and
   developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project and meeting
   deadlines of project. Familiar with the systems scope and project
   objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order
   to effectively coordinate the activities of the work team.
   - Allocate resources based upon the magnitude and necessity of the
   project. Prioritize projects and tasks in order to achieve department and
   Company objectives. Ensures adequate communication is maintained regarding
   all project status and priorities.
   - Develop detail designs which support the customer requirements.
   Conduct technical reviews and walk-through of IT design documentation with
   development and design team members. Review and critique the technical
   documentation of other systems to assure quality products.
   - Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the daily processes of the
   company’s system integration environment.   Augment and facilitate the
   design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing business
   systems.
   - Provide guidance in creating standards, testing procedures, version
   control, etc. Maintain a professional awareness of tools and techniques
   that might be used to improve the quality of service
   - Other duties as assigned.
   - Ensures all projects are managed in accordance to established GPI IT
   governance practices
   - Foster cross-functional relationships for effective project management
   - Track the completion of major milestones
   - Communicate to all stakeholders’ updates on EDI project status
   - Participate in the GPI IT budgeting process as needed





*POSITION SPECIFICATIONS*

   - Bachelor’s Degree required with preferred emphasis in information
   systems, or computer science, or related field.    Equivalent work
   experience considered.
   - 10+ years EDI Technical Mapping and Business Process design experience
   - 6+ years of Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) Sterling Integrator or
   similar data integration tool experience
   - Integration Map Development – EDI, Application Files, Database
   - BPML Design and Development
   - 5+ years of SAP Experience in SD, MM, and Supply Chain processes
   - Demonstrated knowledge of general order to cash, procure to pay, and
   supply chain business processes
   - Multiple years of experience in a manufacturing setting, forest
   products preferred, a plus
   - Experience in both implementation planning and application support is
   desired.  General experience should include systems architecture and
   business processes similar to those at GPI.
   - 5+ years project management experience
   - Demonstrated perceptual and analytical thinking
   - High level of attention to detail that translates into a high degree
   of accuracy in results
   - Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to translate
   technical information into language non-technical people will understand
   - Ability to identify deficiencies in technical work and implementation
   plans, and to identify schedule conflicts
   - Strong leadership to lead effective project and staff meetings
   - Tenacity to set and achieve complex objectives from multiple teams in
   order to meet business objective, and to effectively manage
   cross-functional resources
   - Excellent written and oral communication skills
   - Demonstrated proficiency with Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) /
   Sterling Integrator Version 4.3 (or later) for Unix required
   - Demonstrated expertise in creating GIS business processes utilizing
   BPML
   - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage workload in accordance
   to set priorities
   - Demonstrated ability to operate independently and follow general
   guidelines.
   - Demonstrated ability to think, reason, and continuously learn
   - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems; strong
   analytical skills
   - Detailed knowledge of EDI standards, including ANSI X12 standards
   - High proficiency in SAP IDOC/ALE development and debugging
   - Identify and design SAP ABAP coding required to support system
   integration
   - Identify root causes for new problems as well as recurring issues;
   gather and document functional requirements to determine resolution
   - Possess strong integration understanding of the SAP modules (SD, MM,
   PI, FI)
   - Demonstrated setup VAN, AS2, SFTP, etc. connectivity preferred
