 Position Description

Primary Purpose



Under general direction, plans and performs analysis of major company
activities and guides the subsequent design and implementation of systems
for the application of electronic data processing or for the improvement of
existing data processing applications. Is concerned primarily with the
broad aspects of data processing systems, with the objective of utilizing
available personnel resources, computer hardware and software to provide
that information most useful to the company in the most efficient manner.
Is concerned with the interaction between systems not only to avoid
redundancies in storage and processing, but also to take advantage of new
and more effective ways of providing needed information. May occasionally
train and guide the work of less experienced analysts, but this function is
incidental to specific projects.



Major Activities



Day to day operations of assigned systems and or other shared systems.



o   Install, configure, maintain and administer SQL Servers, databases and
SQL clusters.



o   Monitors database activity and file usage, and ensures necessary
resources are present so that databases function properly.



o   Monitor database usage, error logs and nightly job stats such as Backup.



o   Perform restore/recovery of database and transaction logs.



o   Monitors and coordinates installation and upgrades of hardware and
software as necessary to enhance database performance



o   Knowledge of MySQL administration



o   Make recommendations on design improvement and stability.



o   Utilizes standard corporate tools to record change and problem
activities for tracking purposes.



o   Knowledge of support and management of global Windows 2012 forests and
domains, including DNS, AD, OU, GPO and Account management.



o   Understand existing 2008/2012 domain and application environments to
enable system and device migrations from existing domains to new domains.



o   Skills in patch management, Antivirus and system monitoring such as
WSUS, SEP and Solar Winds



o   Participate in deploying, maintaining and management of backup and
recovery procedures and processes for Windows SQL devices and VMware.



o   Ensure uptime of the highest levels possible and in line with
negotiated internal operations agreements.
