Datastage Develper Location: Albany, NY Duration: Long Term Onsite job Job Responsibilities: Designs systems and programs to meet complex business needs Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded Ensures programs meet standards and technical specifications; performs technical analysis and component delivery. Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software listed below Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents highly complex programs Develops complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs using Java and other technologies listed below Ability to devise creative and efficient technical solutions Develop code using relational databases to facilitate programming software Analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and challenging environment Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation Ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with complex technical problems Researches and analyzes existing systems and program requirements, under periodic supervision. Designs programs for projects or enhancements to existing programs Design and implement complex ETL jobs Maintain, enhance, and optimize DataStage jobs Administer the installation of IBM DataStage (preferred) Assists in resolving production support problems Develops and suggests alternative approaches to resolving problems. Develops test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. Identifies issues as appropriate Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation Remains abreast of, and researches, industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards. Minimum Requirements: 1) Bachelor's degree in business, computer science or related field is required. 2) Must have combined experience of over 8 years in the various ETL technologies and technical skill sets/experience as listed below. 3) Must be able to to write simple and complex SQL Queries preferably in Oracle. 4 )Must have at least 8 years of related database experience preferrably in Oracle. 5) Must be able to understand the database design, table structures, indices etc.. in order to develop effective and efficient code. 6) Must have a minimum of 8 years of of experience in IBM DataStage (preferrably 9.1). 7) Must possess advanced knowledge of datastage stage like join, look, up, merge, transformer, aggregator, surrogate key generator etc... 8) Must have over 8 years of experience in building datastage sequences and scheduling. 9 )Must have over 8 years of experience in creating/modifying/recommending SQL including techniques. for tuning queries that retrievies large volume of data. 10) Must have over 6 years of exeprience working in a Linux environment and with shell scripts. 11) Must have advanced knowledge and experience of oracle DDL including creating and altering tables, indexes, materialized views and views. 12) Must have over 8 years of experience working in multiple large datawarehouse projects.
