Title: Infrastructure SQL DBA Location: Union, NJ Duration: 6-12 months *Interview:* Face to Face Must be GC or Citizen *MUST HAVE:* - *They want a Systems Sql Server DBA, NOT an application DBA* - *Communication skills must be impeccable* - *Candidate must be collaborative but able to work independently.* - high-availability features such as SQL Server AlwaysOn Failover Cluster, Active/Active or Passive Failover Cluster, Database Mirroring, Replication, and Log Shipping. *JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE* The SQL Server Database Administrator (‘SQL Server DBA’) is responsible for these areas of database administration: installation, configuration, problem triage, performance monitoring, capacity planning, patching, upgrades, backup/recovery. The candidate is expected to be a detail-oriented self-starter. Candidate must be able to multi-task. Candidate needs superior written and verbal communication skills. The candidate reports directly to the Manager of Database Administration. The candidate supports development and production database environments in a collaborative team environment. 24x7 on-call support is required. *RESPONSIBILITIES* - Participate in 24x7 on-call production support rotation. - Provide database support for corporate projects. - Provide database design input to project teams. - Provide database support for auditing, including PCI requests. - Install SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 and 2014. - Execute daily system log/status checks. - Perform database problem troubleshooting and query tuning. - Perform analysis of database load metrics. - Prepare performance reports. - Prepare database capacity reports. - Assist in the establishment of procedures and processes for the following: Backup/Recovery, Database Maintenance, Patch Management, Applications Support, and Job Scheduling. - Support infrastructure upgrades. - Support annual disaster recovery test for selected SQL Server databases. - Document processes, procedures and system events. - Document new database environments and/or changes to current environments. - Understand corporate goals and how SQL Server DBA responsibilities support corporate goals. - Attend weekly department management meetings; report on the status of assigned projects and planned changes within the Database Administration group. - Interact with business units, programming staff, other technical staff, and outside vendors. *QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND WORK ETHIC* - 5+ years’ hands-on experience installing/configuring/troubleshooting SQL Server 2005, 2008, and 2008 R2. - 3+ years’ hands-on experience installing/configuring/troubleshooting SQL Server 2012 and 2014. - 3+ years’ hands-on experience installing/configuring/troubleshooting SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services - 3+ years’ hands-on experience installing/configuring/troubleshooting high-availability features such as SQL Server AlwaysOn Failover Cluster, Active/Active or Passive Failover Cluster, Database Mirroring, Replication, and Log Shipping. - 3+years’ hands-on experience with performance tuning. - 3+years’ hands-on experience with database upgrades and patching. - Proficiency with interpreting DB SAN storage layouts - Proficiency using these tuning tools: Idera SQL DM, Execution Plan. - Working knowledge of SSIS packages, stored procedures, triggers, and functions. - Working knowledge of Windows Server and networking concepts. - Working knowledge of MS-Excel and MS-Project software.. - Ability to translate entity relationship diagrams into physical data models. - Ability to prepare and review technical documentation - BS in Business or Computer Science or equivalent experience and technical certification - Precise, clear oral & written communication skills - Strong multi-tasking ability - Ability to work effectively with people from various departments and skill sets Thanks & Regards, Soni Kumari Technical Recruiter |Sage Group Consulting Inc 3400 Highway 35S, Suite #9 Hazlet NJ 07730 Phone : 732.767.0010 x 450 | Direct: 732-856-5824 Email : skum...@sagetl.com http://www.sageci.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle Users" group.
