Title*:** Oracle DBA* Location: *st paul Mn (local only)* Duration: *09 month * Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holders only Rates: $50 pay rate *Interview mode: Phone then Face to Face* *Engagement Description: *Design, implement, support and maintain the current Oracle RAC database environments. We currently are working on a plan to upgrade fr0m Oracle 11g to 12c in the Real Application Cluster (RAC) environment. There is also a need to mentor and train existing and new hire staff in RAC and Linux technologies. Some of the most critical enterprise MnDOT applications are hosted in this environment which needs to be updated, secured and maintained. The current RAC environment consists of Linux servers and includes Oracle ODI, Oracle 11g and 12c databases, Oracle Spatial databases in 10g and 11g, the Enterprise data warehouse and Oracle Spatial data warehouse. There are many project, deployments and tickets to address user and technical changes that are received by the database unit daily. The candidate will be responsible for: Monitoring nightly jobs and back-ups Design and implementation of Oracle (non-spatial) database upgrades to 12c. Migrate Oracle databases from Windows servers to Linux servers. Database administration. Monitoring and installing components and system software as needed, specifically need to upgrade current virus software. At a high level configure server operating systems to maximize the use of Oracle. Database tuning to ensure scheduled loading routines are converted and managed in the new server environments. Support additional operational and maintenance and system enhancement requests as required. Mentor existing database staff on the administration, management, operation and maintenance of the new environments.
