This critical position will be a part of one of the fastest growing and innovative sites in North America This position will last 6 months or longer. Detailed Description - Responsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for key Oracle databases and services of our Amdocs Ensemble application platform on production and lab environments - Participate in version releases and patches - Investigate potential problems and issues raised by users; this includes being on a on-call rotation and carrying a pager as needed - Work with the team to automate reactive procedures where possible, and to promote rapid response to known issues - Work with other teams to promote changes to production and other environments - Accountable for maintaining database configurations in compliance with established best practices - Work in conjunction with other IT, application development, and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the database perspective *Required: * - Expert knowledge of Oracle 10g, SQL and PLSQL - Unix knowledge (HP-UX) - Tiger - is a plus! It's a tool used by Amdocs - Shell scripting using perl/sed/awk - Strong experience supporting mission critical relational databases - Considerable experience in Oracle 10g - Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills - Skilled in scripting and automating repetitive administrative tasks - Able to work effectively in high pressure situations *Nice to have knowledge:* - Experience supporting Ensemble. - Performance Monitoring & Tuning - Middleware (Tuxedo, Weblogic) -- Thanks & Regards.
