Someone who could diagnose problems but is not an IT developer" Candidate will configure, test, and support scalable virtualized network-based Internet security services integrated into core AT&T residential and business DSL service. Candidate must have practical hands on expertise in implementing and validating highly scalable virtualized security services within Tier 1 carrier DSL environments. Candidate should have in depth understanding and expert knowledge of carrier DSL architectures and equipment. In particular, candidate must have prior experience configuring the Juniper ERX platforms and/or the Redback SmartEdge platforms. Candidate with demonstrated ability to autonomously manage a complete development cycle; from proof of concept through production are highly desirable. Besides possessing a strong general networking, Internet security, and TCP/IP background, candidate should have strong knowledge and hands on experience of the common L2/L3 protocols used in the carrier DSL such as ATM, PPPoE, L2TP, and RADIUS. Knowledge and experience with testing equipment and applications such as the Spirent AX4000 and/or Ixia IxLoad/IxNetwork are also highly desirable. Ability to author code and automation scripts, and knowledge of UNIX are desired.
