Tech: Oracle Skills on Unix Platform PLUS Proj Mgmt Exp * * *Position Purpose:* Analyze user data requirements, create logical data architectures and detailed data models, translate to effective physical data models, map logical data models effectively for use with Enterprise applications. Design and implement data migration/conversion projects including data cleansing for large scale databases. Knowledge and extensive experience with Oracle products version 9 or better. Experience with large-scale heterogenous legacy data transformation projects including ETL tools and enterprise data and application integration environments and tools. *Scope: * Overall database systems architect. *Working Relationships/Contacts:* Work with product managers, project managers, and other development team members on a daily basis to analyze requirements, and design and development technical solutions. * * *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* 1. Meet with business stakeholders and other technical team members to gather and analyze application requirements 2. Design database solutions to satisfy application (business and technical) requirements 3. Implement database solutions using available database development tools 4. Provide written status reports to management regarding project status, task, and issues/risks 5. Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, implementation of methodologies to ensure high quality software 6. Tune SQL queries and database performance for OLTP and DSS applications within the development environment 7. Work with system architects to improve existing OLTP model, transaction cost reduction, and increase the overall data throughput 8. Establish coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, logical and physical schema design, and shell scripting and enforce them within the development staff 9. Contribute substantially to the system architecture, and take ownership of the design and development of the DB layer 10. Establish an architecture roadmap for operational and business intelligence reporting, and then deliver on it. 11. Create and maintain a data architecture to increase the robustness, performance, and scalability of the entire system. 12. *Ability to conduct data modeling design reviews with business and technical leaders to verify data model captures business functionality* 13. *Firm understanding of data marts, data warehouses, and operational data store methodologies and lifecycle* 14. *Gather and analyze enhancements to enterprise data models and data architecture components* * * *Qualification Requirements* 1. MS or PhD in Comp Science or Engineering preferred. 2. 10+ years of experience in development of software products, preferably 5+ years in Internet related technologies. 3. Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation skills. 4. 10 years working experience with Oracle. 5. Expertise in relational database design, data warehousing and database administration 6. Expertise in C, C++, Unix Shell Scripts 7. Expertise in configuration management and code version control 8. Expertise in database performance tuning 9. Expertise with Sun Solaris 10. Good technical and problem solving skills; knowledge of Oracle database server, SQL, PL/SQL, XML, SQL Server, UNIX, shell scripting 11. Excellent oral & written communication skills 12.
