Citigroup-Jersey City-Rate 600/day Senior Technical Specialist – ETL Architect Job Description: Business Unit/Department Overview Size and scope: This position is to fulfill a need in the Global Transaction Services Ab Initio Standard Technology Environment (STE), part of GIW Shared Services. *The Ab Initio STE* services the entire Global Transaction Services (GTS) division within Capital Markets and Banking (CMB). Roles and responsibilities: Position has the functional title of Senior Technical Specialist. The role is an Ab Initio ETL Architect whose responsibility is to plan, define and transform a Reliable, Scalable and Manageable Enterprise ETL Environment to be shared amongst a diverse community of development groups. This position requires strong *Unix skills *to effectively fulfill resource optimization responsibilities in the GTS Ab Initio STE. More responsibility details appear in the next section. Team size and locations: The GIW team is approximately 130 people globally, with offices in the US, UK, and India. The person will be working in Jersey City in the Shared Services team which consists of 17 people. Reporting structure: The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager of GTS Ab Initio STE team. Interaction with other divisions: The candidate will interact primarily with Development Teams throughout Global Transaction Services. Interaction with various Infrastructure groups is also vital. Job Responsibilities: Job Qualifications: Indicate the minimum knowledge and experience required for the position, including: Job Qualifications 7 to 10 years experience in Data Warehouse and/or ETL Architecture with specific knowledge of: - Ab Initio - Oracle and/or DB2/UDB - Understanding of Ab Initio deployment architectures including EME (Enterprise Metadata Environment) - Strong knowledge and use of full lifecycle development methodologies, standards and procedures - Highly Available Distributed Operating Environments - Experience in building high-throughput, highly available ETL systems - Strong Unix Skills including shell scripts and system analysis Experience with one or more of the following is a big plus: - Websphere MQ - Change Management and Implementation Practices Non-technical knowledge, experience, and skills (leadership, management, oral and/or written communication, etc.): The candidate must possess superior communication skills as they will be interacting with people with diverse skills and seniority.
