WE NEED THIS PERSON TO UNDERSTAND THE COMPLETE SDLC INCLUDING PERFORMANCE ISSUES, KNOWLEDGE ON QA PROCESS, OPERATING SYSTEMS ETC. AND WHO HAS STRONG SYSTEM ANALYTICAL SKILLS AS WELL. BEST BET IS TO HIRE SOMEONE FROM A PRODUCT BASED DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE AND ALSO SHOULD HAVE AN EXP. SEARCH ENGINE AND ALSO SHOULD KNOW REGRESSION TESTING REQUIREMENT DETAILS: Deliverables: This position will be responsible for architecture, design and development of cutting edge video search and discovery application for the Television and other screens. The application will utilize latest linguistic, information retrieval and video analysis technologies to find most relevant video and textual contents matching the query. Major Duties: § Define, architect and implement complex high-performance software applications in Search/Information retrieval domain using Java on Linux. § Understanding of the linguistic tools and technologies. § Collaborate with engineers, QA and Operations teams to architect and develop strategic and tactical solutions in the multimedia search domain. § Lead and estimate engineering effort, plan implementations, and rollout for complex search applications with implications to cross-functional teams. § Must be able to independently design, code and test major features, as well as work jointly with other team members to deliver complex applications. § Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other team members. Implement proof-of-concept prototypes for complex infrastructure design. Minimum Requirement/Qualification for this position: § 10+ years of experience in developing large scale software applications. § Expert in Java, Linux, and database technologies. § Knowledge of Information Retrieval and related technologies. § Must be a great team player and able to work in a very dynamic fast paced environment. § Creative, flexible, and able to fill multiple functions within development teams. § Proven track record of successfully designing, and developing enterprise class systems with stringent availability, performance and SLA requirements. § Excellent written and verbal communication skills. § BS or MS in Computer Science.
