You can remove the Oracle RAC database instance from the node before removing the node from the cluster but this step is not required. If you do not remove the instance, then the instance is still configured but never runs. Deleting a node from a cluster does not remove a node's configuration information from the cluster. The residual configuration information does not interfere with the operation of the cluster. No presente caso, a instance/servidor "rac2" (que tem apenas a instance de banco + grid infrastructure) nunca mais irá voltar, porém, suas configurações continuarão no clusterware e claro, o ideal é limpar esta configuração (e eu me sentiria bem mais confortável fazendo isso em ambiente não produtivo primeiro, o que não disponho no momento), pois se ocorre um erro humano daqui a meses e a máquina volta, e por exemplo, as coisas mudaram (novos discos, patches linux, patchsets oracle, etc), podemos ter um grande problema nas mãos. Portanto, a partir da próxima semana, estudaremos a migração deste banco para Single-Instance, deixando de correr este risco. Grato!
