Title: FIX Support Specialist (Consultant) Location: New York, NY
Duration: 6 months Rate: 50/hr C2C Company Overview: The world's largest equity and Options exchange, ISE, is recruiting an experienced FIX Consultant to provide technical and business-related support, advice and assistance to both internal and external stakeholders. Required Skills: . 10+ years of software support experience, including production support, with at least 3 years working in the financial services industry . 5+ years of experience supporting the FIX protocol, including the coordination of FIX certification for clients, and working with Testing and Development teams to identify and resolve issues . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related discipline . Experience in debugging and performance tuning high volume, low latency systems . Strong software development skills including Java server-side programming, multi-threading, concurrent processing, and sockets programming skills . Fast learner, with the ability to rapidly gain an understanding of ISE's systems and processes General skills: . Excellent verbal and written communication skills . Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills . Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks . Ability to work with multi-disciplinary business, technical and client representatives . Ability to work to strict deadlines with minimal supervision . Team player Required Experience: . Experience supporting and testing FIX-based systems in an Options trading environment . Previous experience working directly with internal groups including Software Quality Management, Product Management and Market Operations . Previous experience working directly with technical representatives from client firms . Previous experience working for an Options trading firm is highly desirable .
