Expected Rate * * *Requirement Copy:* *Title: Mainframe DB2 on zOS (plus if other DB experience is present as well)* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Location: Farmington Hills, MI* *Rate: $35/Hr* *PURPOSE: * - Plans, designs, develop, and implement moderately complex company database(s) - Identifies data definition, structure, long-range requirements, documentation of database(s), operational guidelines and protection - Implement complex logical data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes - Resolve database performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues - Identify information flow, content issues, and translate business requirements into logical data models - Responsible for the maintenance of database dictionaries and integration of systems through database design - Establish database standards and guidelines. Install, configure, and manage databases. - May participate in the on call rotation, monitoring service and problem requests, and work with customer to resolve issues in database and applications - Competent to work at the highest level of all phases of database management - Demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures. - Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. - Performs a variety of complex tasks - A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required - May guide various groups on application systems activities * * *CAPABILITIES: * - Demonstrate technical expertise of all phases of database activities - Demonstrate excellent ability to plan, design, develop, and implement moderately complex databases. - Identifies data definition, structure, long-range requirements, documentation of database(s), operational guidelines and protection. Implement complex logical data models and database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes. - Demonstrate experience in providing guidance and advice to various groups on database activities - Demonstrate excellent ability to communicate to all level of management in written and verbal form *All 3 Sr. DBAs are required to perform - * - All 3 need to perform logical, physical, design, implementation, operations, performance, high availability, maintenance jobs creation and support; knowledge of system level dba software activities are helpful for configuration/hardware/capacity planning as required. - All will participate in on call rotation and provide 24x7 back up support for the databases for which they provide primary support. - Extra hours and off hours work required if needed by project otherwise at CF Manager's discretion the willingness to reduce hours during week, if off hours work was required, to maintain average 40 hour work weeks is required. *SCOPE*: Work under general directions; typically reports to a team lead or supervisor/manager. * * *EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE*: Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and eight (8) plus years of experience in the field or in a related area.
