 *Experience/Skills*
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting NetApp implementations and
configurations
Solid understanding of hardware platforms such as FAS9XXX, 3XXX series, FC
loops, MK4-DS14, ESH modules, raiddp with familiarity around hardware
troubleshooting.
Knowledge of protocols such as NFS(a must) and CIFS (a must), and iSCSI.
Well versed in disaster recovery technology - snapmirror, snapshots, backups
Knowledge of tools – Operations Manager, VFM, performance analysis tools a
must
Must be proficient in scripting languages such as Perl and VBScript
Experience with performance tuning analysis a must.
Active Directory, NIS Authentication, Networking and SAN knowledge a plus
Knowledge of SQL and familiarity with databases is a plus.
Three to five years of experience supporting Microsoft or UNIX platform
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Project management skills a must
Self starter with minimum supervision
Strong leadership skills with sound judgment

 *SUMMARY:
T*he NAS Service Engineer will need to have proven experience in
administering Network Attached Storage platforms delivering solutions to a
variety of technology and business clients.
Significant expertise with the Network Appliance based hardware and OS
technologies a must, as is a strong understanding of storage management
principles and how to apply them.
The individual will need to be able to seamlessly blend technical knowledge,
business knowledge, project management and effective communication skills
for this role.

 Principal Responsibilities
Interaction with Storage Engineering and other Services groups to provide
service level management on NAS global technology solutions
Delivery of high quality storage services to the clients by focusing on
assurance initiatives such as:

 Capacity management
Performance analysis, tuning and management
Risk management
Configuration Management
Change and Incident Management
Reporting on utilization, chargeback and growth trends providing
recommendations
Level 4 troubleshooting
Testing and validating new technologies/enhancements with Engineering

 Contribute to rearchitecting platform to be managed data driven by policy
Participate in assessing current environment and making recommendations for
improvement with an eye to automation, where applicable
Share information and promote effective communication among peers and
clients.
Write comprehensive documentation and operational runbooks for Operations
Integrating new services and offerings for production readiness
Consistently meet the SLA's set with the client for the services provided.
Manage projects independently meeting timely deliverables
Travel may be required as needed
