Location: Brisbane, CA Duration: 3-6 Months Responsibilities - Architect backend systems for massively deployed web applications - Build efficient and reusable services that can scale to support millions of users - Work with other Software Engineers, Architects, and Web Developers to implement the next generation of client products - Participate in design and planning of next generation products - Write code! Desired Skills - Network programming, TCP, UDP - Protocol and API design - Scalable server development - - C++, Java, or other object-oriented programming languages - Python, PHP, Perl, or other scripting languages - Erlang or other modern functional languages - Multithreaded systems - Asynchronous event driven programming - Linux/UNIX environments - Performance tuning - - Database development/concepts - Experience building scalable SOAs - Experience building web applications Requirements - BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field - Proven history of building highly performing and scalable architectures - Strong working knowledge of modern web and services technologies and their use (e.g. memcached/Redis, MapReduce/Hadoop, BigTable/Cassandra, Procotol Buffers/Thrift/Etch/ICE) - A working knowledge of Agile Development or an enthusiasm to learn.
