*Mandatory Skills*

The DB2 Database Administrator is responsible for all activities pertaining
to Develop, Implement, Administer, and maintain DB2 databases in  AIX ,
Linux / Windows. Roles for this position requires  5+ years of exposure as
a Database Admin that  includes monitoring, database standardization and
optimization, and risk identification and remediation, change control,
incident troubleshooting etc. This position would require working with
partners/ vendors.


*MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:  *

Technical contact for DB2 Database administration and support.  Implements
complex database designs for the core enterprise applications, including
software installation, creation, tuning, and management of all production
and non-production databases.

   - Database performance tuning and troubleshooting. Configures database
   access and allocates database resources for optimum configuration and
   performance.
   - DB2 backup and recovery techniques. Implementing and administering
   database failover environments.
   - Database upgrades and patches.
   - Perform capacity planning and projection for future growths.
   - Hands-on experience with automation of tools, implementations,
   scripting and database reporting metrics and reports.
   - Establish standards, controls, and procedures to ensure data integrity
   and security.
   - Provide assistance to associates to resolve technical issues, document
   and implement best practices for the database environments.
   - Required to be on-call and respond in a timely manner.

*CERTIFICATIONS PREFEERED:*

IBM Certified Database Administrator—DB2 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows
 or

IBM Certified Database Administrator—DB2 10 for z/OS
