Title: Web Specialist Location: Wichita KS Duration: 9+ Months Travel Requirements: Domestic/East Coast Travel - at least 2 weeks/month for first 3 months, then could be reduced to 1 week/month Position Description The candidate should be someone who: 1. Codes to “web standards”: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_standards#Common_usage 2. Separates document structure from layout using CSS 3. Commonly codes “by hand” and does not rely on HTML code generating tools such as Dreamweaver and FrontPage The Candidate will work directly with internal business customers to analyze interactive marketing requirements needed to support business marketing and growth goals, and work with other Interactive Marketing team members to deliver targeted solutions. The candidate must be able to work effectively (often multi-tasking) across a wide variety of technologies and disciplines, and effectively interact with business, technical, and creative resources. Experience required: · Associate’s degree with 3+ years of experience in the following: · HTML design and coding in the latest W3C recommendations for Visual Formatting Models and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS2) · Basic JavaScript programming (access and manipulation of DOM elements) and an understanding of AJAX capabilities. · Creation and processing of XML. · Creation and access of interactive database structures through a programming or scripting language. · Basic graphic creation and manipulation using software such as Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks. · Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with a diverse, global customer base. · Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Experience preferred: · Prior interactive agency employment · Search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) · Expectations · Engage all customers both as a partner to their needs and a steward of the technology for the company. Translate business needs into IT solutions that work well within the company’s IT infrastructure. · Take personal accountability for solving all customer needs and opportunities. Where expertise beyond personal capabilities may bring value, ensure the proper resources are marshaled to meet the need. · Be capable of providing quick and reasonable estimates for small to medium size jobs within your expertise. · Demonstrate basic project coordination and management capability for small to medium projects. · Write code that is properly constructed to the task at hand– not quick and dirty. Raise issues when relevant code bases are found to be improperly designed or are being utilized beyond the ir original purpose. · Review current HTML code bases for standards compliance and develop a plan to pull them into compliance. · Engage each web site owner to plan a reasonable SEO and Web Metrics review. Agree with the web site owner on a proper path of revisions, testing, and metrics that will monitor and improve site performance. · Create and enhance Webtrends monitoring profiles for each site. Be capable of configuring Webtrends monitoring and reports.
