We are looking for a Linux/UNIX systems administrator on behalf of our client. *Role Summary* Fidelity's Information Management Technology (FIMT) is looking to add a systems administrator to the Technology, Support and Operations (TSO) Division. Conduct complex operational support and problem resolution for assigned operating systems platforms and projects. Consult with senior management on all aspects of platform design and configuration in a multi-server environment. Participate in planning, coordination, and installation of new or modified platforms. *General Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required* - Bachelor's degree preferred - 5+ years experience infrastructure environment desirable and in a financial services environment - Candidate must have a strong background in Linux, demonstrated knowledge of AIX, Solaris and VMWare a plus - Expert knowledge of systems design, installation, and operation - Solid knowledge of advanced configurations, network connectivity and multiple technologies - Solid understanding of how hardware/software systems relate to the business - Expertise in hardware and software troubleshooting - Able to work independently and complete tasks successfully within agreed upon deadlines - Experience with NIS, NFS and DNS - Excellent oral and written communication skills required - Familiarity with enterprise server hardware, blade configuration knowledge a plus *Qualifications*** - Able to work independently and complete tasks successfully within agreed upon deadlines - Experience with NIS, NFS and DNS - Excellent oral and written communication skills required - Familiarity with enterprise server hardware, blade configuration knowledge a plus - Maintenance & Operational Support - Provides 7x24 on-call support on a rotational basis with other systems administrators in support of system hardware, software and business applications - Provide primary support (hardware and middleware software) for all Unix/Linux users within FIMT. - Performs necessary complex maintenance and support activities - Maintains and reviews system logs and reports - Develops necessary scripts for operation and production processes - Configures servers and documents architecture from a technical support standpoint - Manages disk space; installs and supports configurations - Perform analysis of the Unix/Linux computing environment and identify methods to improve efficiency and enhance customer support - Performs hardware and OS infrastructure installations - Performs installation of High Availability/DR implementations - Consults on complex design and configuration issues, including topology, operating systems, and integration issues - Troubleshoots and resolves complex hardware and operating system problems - Participates in internal and external groups - Work closely with Server Architecture and Engineering (SAE) to ensure server standards are implemented properly - On occasion, addresses small groups on technical subjects or demonstrates systems - Participates in group discussions - Maintains user/external group relationships - Thanks & Regards... ...
