Location : NYC,NY Duration : 6 month consulting * Essential Unix technical skills include: Deep experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x and 6.x and Solaris 10.x and 11.x Automated server build and installation processes using Kickstart and Jumpstart Ongoing management of servers including patching, configuration, package installation and upgrades Managing and supporting a globally distributed server fleet Operating system Storage Management including DAS, SAN, DAS, NAS, HBA configuration, multi-pathing, LUN and file system management Well-developed skills in troubleshooting and debugging in a complex Unix environment Good experience with directory and naming services such as DNS, LDAP and NIS
Scripting in Perl and Shell, in order to automate manual processes Owning the technical support and resolution of incidents in a compressed time frame Highly desirable low-latency technical skills include: Linux kernel performance tuning experience including thread and network stack tuning and optimization. Solid network troubleshooting, including packet capture, dis-assembly and analysis Experience with performance monitoring tools and utilities to detect and remove bottlenecks, such as tcpdump, iostat, vmstat, oprofile and sar.
