Assist with the design and development of a web-based application using object-oriented design. 2. Define, enforce, and follow project development standards and templates and lead peer reviews to ensure quality products are produced. 3. Program a Java, object-oriented solution that complies with best practices and standards established by the Department of Environmental Quality Office of Information System’s staff. * Skills and Experience:* 1. 5 or more years minimum related experience, 2. Hands on experience with and advanced skills in the following technologies: Core Java, Advanced Java, Servlets, EJBs, XML, Websphere, Eclipse, Oracle database, Ant / Maven, Bottom-up web service generation, SOAP and REST services (JAX-RPC/JAX-WS) and Microsoft Office 2003/2007. 3. Experience with translating application requirements into component and interface specifications. 4. A willingness and ability to follow defined programming and design standards. 5. Skilled in establishing effective interpersonal relationships. 6. Able to work independently, under general supervision, and as part of a team on several concurrent tasks with changing priorities. 7. Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. 8. Maintain a broad knowledge of current industry technologies, methodologies and design patterns, and their applicability and appropriateness in various solution architectures. 9. Demonstrate a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity and professionalism. 10. Mentoring/teaching current staff learning Java. 11.
