JOB SPECIFICATIONS 1. Four or more years experience performing database administration for SQL Server is required. 2. Strong DBA skills and excellent TSQL knowledge (stored procedures, views, triggers, etc.) is required. 3. Excellent skills in Replication, Log shipping, Database Mirror, and Performance tuning. 4. Good understanding of DTS/SSIS packages and clustering. 5. Experience supporting DB2 and/or Oracle on one or more platforms, such as MVS, AS/400, AIX, or Windows is a plus. 6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 7. Minimum education requirements are 4 year degree or an equivalent of education and experience. 8. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plans, schedules, and implements maintenance to MS SQL Server. 2. Develop, implement, and support the SQL database backup and recovery strategies. 3. Perform MS SQL Server database structural changes required during system upgrades. 4. Support Operating Company and Corporate systems as necessary during off hour periods, five days a week and during weekends, when database maintenance work takes place, and during application and system software upgrades. 5. Create documentation required to support MS SQL Server engine and databases 6. Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader or Manager. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Normal office environment. 2. Work schedule is generally Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with on-call support.
