Job Title : VB.Net Developer Location : Akron , OH Duration : 6 Month Contact I just need them to have at least 2 years of coding experience with VB.NET VB.NET Web Application Developer for Retail Non-SAP Systems About the opportunity Client Need a .NET developers to the team supporting the FirstEnergy Solutions (FES) Retail Systems. This position could be assigned to one of a few planned projects that require VB.NET development. This will involve the following activities: Designing the solution and providing estimates Development of the application in VB.Net Supporting unit, integration, and stress testing for the application Documenting technical specifications Providing production support and technical troubleshooting of implemented functionality Additional responsibilities include: Working independently or with business analysts to support requirement definition and test scenario identification Documenting processes/procedures and specifications for peers Consistently anticipating and delivering results Providing advice, education, and encouragement to others On call availability for systems support during or after implementation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Management Information Systems, or related degree, or commensurate experience in lieu of degree Minimum of 2 years experience with VB.NET Web / Windows forms application development Required proficient experience with the following: VB.NET / ASP.NET Windows / Web application development with the following additional experience: .NET APIs CSS HTML XML Relational database experience Preferred experience with the following: Web Services, including REST Unix scripting Javascript Oracle SQL and PL/SQL syntax knowledge Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or later Entity Framework Devart TOAD for Oracle Visual Source Safe Infragistics Net Advantage Utility industry or retail sales knowledge working with billing, commissions, quote management, costing or contract management business processes Analytical skills to resolve problems and think creatively Good interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team Good communication skills, including the ability to make formal presentations to various audiences, the ability to express difficult and complex concepts clearly and concisely both orally and in writing Ability to meet established priorities and schedules, and willing to undertake assignments involving multiple tasks Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects, with the aptitude to learn quickly Highly motivated to work independently and productively but also able to work in a virtual environment (working with remote co-workers using virtual technologies) Expertise with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word Able to learn new concepts in information technology, learn the characteristics of new systems and update skills to adapt to changing technology Ability to work with non-technical business clients to obtain detailed information about technical issues or requirements.
