*Position: Db2 DBA*
*Duration: 15 months *
*Location: Downers grove, IL*

*Overview:*
·         This position is responsible for designing, modeling, developing
and supporting Database Management Systems (DBMS).
·         Analyzes data requirements, application and processing
architectures, data dictionaries, and database schema(s), and then designs,
develops, amends, optimizes, and certifies database schema design to meet
system(s) requirements.
·         Gathers, analyzes, and normalizes relevant information related
to, and from business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data
credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
·         Develops database and warehousing designs across multiple
platforms and computing environments.
·         Develops an overall data architecture that supports the
information needs of the business in a flexible but secure environment.

*Requirements:*
·         DB2 V9.5 or higher on AIX, LINUX, or Windows (strong DB2 on AIX);
Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in DB2 AIX within an enterprise
level environment;
·         8 years of IT work experience in DBA, DBMS design and support and
relevant computing environments.
·         5 years of experience in DB2 on AIX
·         Knowledge of HADR, DB2 pureScale, Replication, Range
partitioning, Disaster Recovery with business continuity;
·         Database Development and Ongoing Support, (Implement physical
database design, Perform routine maintenance (Backup and Recovery, REORGS,
RUNSTATS, etc.), Stored Procedures, Provide Load and Performance support,
Monitor database space usage, Monitor database performance bottlenecks,
etc.);
·         Unix Scripting skills (Perl, Shell, VBS, etc.);
·         Knowledge of Data Modeling related to database logical and
physical design;
·         SQL Tuning experience;
·         Ability to participate in 24 hour on call support rotation;
·         Maintain database documentation as required;
·         Participate in the installation of new database products,
database versions and fix patches;
·         Implement and maintain disaster recovery procedures (e.g. HACMP
failover);
·         Knowledge of Load Balancers;
·         Understanding of the systems development life cycle (SLDC) and
some understanding of business processes;
·         Knowledge of database monitoring tools (e.g., Toad, IBM Data
Studio, IBM Optim, etc.)
·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or
other related field.
