Project Details: Major global audit application - Doing maintenance and new development at the same time. Contractors will mostly be focused on maintenance with some new development. Currently in 3rd major release. Doing maintenance release with a delivery of April 2014. Application is mature and currently deployed to 18 countries. Unique geographically distributed, not 1 large location for data security purposes. SQL on laptop – use SQL Express New release of app- targeting January 2015. Must have: MS SQL 2008, they’re working on 2012 as well. Enterprise size experience of 1 TB minimum- they’re anywhere from 1-7 TB database. Hands-on: write stored procedures, performance tuning, tables, triggers, views, etc. ETL packages-. Create detailed designs of their work. Perform Unit Testing-big focus on quality. Knowledge transfer going to happen but need skilled senior contractors who can pick things up quickly and produce. Plus: Redgate Tool- plus. Use it for the differences between the various databases, etc. Reporting/analytics and/or data warehousing background- not right now, but potentially later phase of project. SSIS- write custom work in packages using C#.net - not primary job functions. Anyone who does SSIS will have C# or VB.net – C# preferred. Data modeling- done by existing team members but may need contractors to supplement their work. ok not primary tasks-guiding their work as they’re writing their code. Client Job Description: This position is a key contributor to the development group of a major global audit application. In this role you will be responsible for designing and implementing various application* *capabilities using SQL Server and related tools. You will work closely with team members, including business analysts, team leads, quality assurance, infrastructure, and project* *management. The person that fills this role must have the ability to work independently on assignments with minimal supervision while remaining highly collaborative. In addition, you* *must possess the ability to create and clearly articulate optimal software designs to meet the solution objectives. Experience With 5-10 years of hands-on experience developing applications leveraging the following skills, education and experiences. Strong general RDBMS background Advanced SQL Server 2008 skills should include: Designing, developing, testing, and supporting large scale databases (must have at least 1 TB) Expertise in creating all key database objects – Tables, Views, Triggers, Indices, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, Dynamic SQL In-depth knowledge of development, testing, and optimization of T-SQL code with tools included in SQL Server, along with other third-party tools Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues Strong experience in data analysis and modelling processes Strong experience with data modeling tools such as CA Erwin Strong general ETL / data integration experience. Specific experience with SSIS and DTS packages a plus. Strong general business intelligence / reporting / analytics experience. Specific experience with SSRS a plus.
