Senior Cognos Administrator Location: Washington DC Duration: 2 Months plus * Experience in upgrading the Cognos BI 8.4 to Cognos10 * Experience in supporting administration in Cognos 10 environment and Cognos 10 SDK * Experience in installing IBM Websphere application server 6.x/7.x and should be able install and configure Java based applications in Websphere environment * Proven experience in Cognos account management and access control. * Strong experience in authentication and authorization mechanisms using LDAP servers and single sign on tools * Strong experience in performance tuning of applications and capacity planning. * Working experience with Oracle database environments * Knowledge of ETL technologies, preferably Informatica * Experience in supporting IT operations using an onsite/offshore delivery model * Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations. * Ability to write and maintain technical documentation and procedures * Good understanding of the Software development lifecycle * Ability to diagnose and resolve technical problems independently as well as in collaboration with a team * Ability to take initiative and work without supervision. * Ability to work as a effective team member in a multicultural environment is must * Should have excellent interpersonal skill as well as oral and written communication skill The required qualifications for this position are: * 4-year Bachelor s degree preferably in Math, Computer Science or Engineering.
