We have a Direct Client Requirement for you and the details are as follows
Job Title: Oracle Applications/OBIEE DBA
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Duration: 6+ months
*Job Description:*
OBIEE/EBS DBA will have experience as a core DBA, applications DBA and
OBIEE. The environment consists of multiple installations of Oracle
databases and applications including, but not limited to; E-Business Suite
12.1.3, Hyperion 11.2, Enterprise Manager 12c, Oracle GRC, Oracle Golden
Gate, OBIEE and various standalone instances supporting 3rd party
applications. This position requires no less than 8 years of experience
with Oracle EBS and must have significant Unix experience, preferably Linux.
OBIEE:
• This position shall understand and be able to administer WebLogic Server
10.3.6
• This DBA will have experience installing and configuring OBIEE 11.1.1.x
• This DBA will have experience with, or exposure to the Oracle Analytic
applications for OBIEE
• This position will be familiar with the various OBIEE/Analytic features
like ODI in WLS 10.3.6
• This DBA will have installed and supported APEX
EBS:
• In addition to the subsequent skills specific to EBS, it would beneficial
for this DBA to have worked with Multi-Language installations of EBS.
Chinese would be a huge plus.
• Localization experience would be a plus
Monitoring
• The DBA shall have knowledge of various monitoring tools and be able to
leverage either shell scripts or packaged monitoring tools.
• Monitoring shall be used to avoid, identify and remediate problems as
well as identify code for performance improvements
Backup and Recovery
• Experience using RMAN is mandatory using standalone RMAN or any of the
various backup applications (Netbackup, Commvault, Data Protector)
• RMAN duplicate database experience is required
• Knowledge of consistent and inconsistent recovery
• Knowledge of Flashback technologies and the Flash Recovery Area
Performance Tuning
• The DBA shall know how to trace sessions and analyze trace files
• The DBA will know how to use Explain Plan
• SQL tuning is necessary as is the ability to work with the development
staff as a mentor
• The DBA shall monitor the database (see Monitoring), identify inefficient
SQL and open tickets assigning to development team for remediation
• The DBA will understand the difference between, and leverage the various
Oracle provided reports such as AWR, ASH, etc…
Patching
• The DBA will understand the relationship between the oraInventory and
opatch for database patching
• The DBA will monitor Oracle support site for CPU (Critical Patch
Updates)and PSU (Patch Set Update) patches and work with the business to
schedule application of same
• Understanding of EBS patching and troubleshooting of same is mandatory.
The DBA will be able to speak to ADCTRL, ADPATCH, ADMRGPCH AND ADWORK*.LOG
files
• Patches and their pre-requisites will accurately identified and
documented prior to first application
Troubleshooting:
The DBA will understand the various tiers and components that make up the
Oracle EBS environment so problems can be quickly identified and resolved.
The components to include, but not limited to:
o Forms
o Reports
o Concurrent Managers
o Autoconfig
o Workflow Notification Mailer
o BI Publisher
The DBA, working with Oxbow’s ticketing systems and the users work to
resolve issues
The DBA will possess the ability to collaborate with development staff to
properly resolve incidents
Intimate knowledge of Oracle’s support site and how to manage Oracle
Service Requests is a must
General Requirements:
• This position requires the candidate be able work in a corporate,
collaborative environment
• This position requires the candidate be able to lift 30 lbs
• This position requires the candidate to be able to report to work on a
timely basis and deliver what the supervisor requires
• The Oracle DBA should have a very technical background preferably having
started as either a software developer or Unix administrator. The DBA
should understand networking, disk technologies, server technologies and be
intimately familiar with the Oracle database, application and supporting
software
