Job Purpose
Provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and
implementation of technical products and systems. Resolves highly complex
technical issues and conducts advanced research. Recommend alterations to
development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks that involve teaming with other technology
owners both in and outside of the company to meet user requirements and
drive solutions that conform to company wide Information Technology
standards and future direction setting.

Candidate is responsible for the creation and management of standards,
processes and patterns for technologies at the organization.

The candidate should be able to work effectively at all levels of the
organization; must have strong verbal and written communication skills;
must have excellent interpersonal, facilitation, negotiation, leadership
skills and must have strong skills in analysis, design, problem-solving,
and project lifecycle knowledge. Must be able to work independently, be
resourceful, take initiative and problem-solve with minimal daily guidance.
Candidate must be able to act in a leadership role if called upon to solve
a complex issue in the absence of a team lead.

Duties and Responsibilities
• This position will team with area lead to develop, deliver supported
applications, systems, and products in a multi-platform environment.
• Performs standards creation and management, image builds, testing,
packaging, deployment of technologies, messaging and collaboration design,
identity management, remote business application solutions.
• Responsible for a full range of activities, related to development
projects, support projects and new implementations.
• Technical analysis, production of technical specifications, overseeing
the implementing of required changes, and conducting unit testing ensuring
that the solution performs accurately with a high degree of quality.
• Ability to demonstrate a focus on automation of routine administrative
tasks including document archival, web interface platform management, and
 claims platform management for Enterprise environments.
• Ensure that IT goals are aligned and support the company’s business goals.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding technical support in assigned
areas; respond to outages as a priority
• Ensure personal career development through regular participation in new
product & technology transfer training, through attendance at any outside
seminars & training programs, through self-directed exploration of
available reference materials, and through seeking coaching and mentoring
from management and other senior members of the organization
• Assess near-term needs, utilizing structured interview process to
establish business priorities, consult with technical subject matter
experts and develop alternative technical solutions.
• Advise on options, risks, cost versus benefit, and impact on other
business processes and technology priorities.
• Facilitate development of cross business sector solutions that combine
knowledge of particular business processes and issue, general technological
options, and process facilitation techniques
• Strong knowledge of networking/distributed computing concepts, Microsoft
infrastructure technologies, Unix/Linux, change management practices, and
scripting
• Must have a strong working knowledge of Windows Server platform and
document management technologies such as Mobius from ASG.
• Must have a solid working knowledge of Linus or Unix operating system and
HR/Finance technologies such as Lawson.
• Working knowledge of systems administration for Windows Server based
applications (both web based and client server based).
• Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook).
• Microsoft Clustering Services and hardware based load balancing
understanding
• Manage vendor relationships with our various enterprise systems providers
• Define and implement ongoing IT internal process improvements
• Work as part of an IT team to coordinate the release of software upgrades
• Responsible for reacting to requests from service ticket requests,
service outages, change control, and other related projects.
• Provide project pre-implementation and implementation technical expertise
for existing and new technologies.
• The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team
consensus to move forward
• Must have the ability to multitask while still providing exemplary
service.

Hiring Requirements/Qualifications
Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or
related discipline required with three to five years of experience.
Req’d Professional Certifications MCSE or applicable OS and application
platform certification
Leadership Experience Required

Hiring Preferences
Additional Education/Experience Preferences o Microsoft Active Directory
and Windows Server, basic training.
o Software development experience both Java and .NET preferred.
o Websphere and Tomcat experience preferred.

Abilities/Soft Skills
o Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability
to present and discuss technology with diverse knowledge workers.
o Assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing
assignments; tasks and commitments; setting high standards of performance
for self and others
o Identifying and understanding issues, problems and opportunities; taking
action that is consistent with company goals and customer requirements;
understanding the need, urgency, available facts, constraints and probable
consequences related to our decisions.
o Developing and using strong, effective work relationships that promote
the accomplishment of company goals.

Preferred Professional Certifications/Experience
o Project management experience preferred.
o Platform agnostic application implementation and management experience

Working Conditions
o Able to work nights and weekends as required to achieve company goals.
o Responsible for both the appropriate maintenance options (24x7, next
business day, etc.) and subsequent accuracy of costs for technologies
assigned.
