*Job Description:*
* Responsibilities:*
Perform all Oracle Database Administration related activities independently
with minimal supervision.
Strong capability and ability to resolve highly technical and complex
database and infrastructure related issues on their own before they impact
production.
Provide technical expertise to the development of solutions for such items
as DBMS tools and utilities usage, database administration, backup and
recovery, database performance tuning and monitoring.
Perform database migrations, upgrades and structure migrations.
Ability to influence development organizations to comply with database best
practices.
Fully utilizes CASE tools to develop, or modify, physical database designs
from logical designs, using the logical design, discussion with the Data
Analyst, application development reviews, and documented results from
transaction access path analysis sessions as input.
Assure quality of database analysis and design across projects, thus
enabling company-wide data re usability.
Trouble-shoot database and/or software problems as they apply to design,
implementation, or installation activities.
Schedule and coordinates database maintenance activities including such
items as database reorganizations and restructures.
Coordinates and/or participates in database stress tests, analyzes results,
and makes recommendations for design or coding changes based upon those
results.
Participate in on-call, overnight off-hour production problem resolution
activities.
Develop and maintain DBMS related standards and procedures, knows where
they are located, and makes full use of them. Follows Companies software
development processes.
Researche, evaluate, and test new software and DBMS related tools and
facilities as they pertain to the existing DBMS environment, database
designs, procedures, and applications.
Monitor current DBMS performance and develops procedures, where necessary,
to improve the DBMS environment as required.
Identify and supports quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other assignments to comply with the SR&T corporate purpose and
mission to add business value, increase revenue, decrease costs, improve
productivity, and support the strategic initiative/directive.
Comply with all Companies security and audit standards. Ensures security of
company information by ensuring database is secure and monitors environment
to identify improper access.

*Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
10-12 years of experience, with at least the last 5-7 years as Lead Oracle
DBA on all aspects of Oracle Database Administration in a large/challenging
database environment on Linux platform running RAC.
Experience supporting internet/web based database applications with heavy
concurrent user volume.
Experience working on 10g/11g RAC database applications, Oracle TDE, OEM
Grid control, RMAN.
Experience working on Golden Gate Replication is a Plus.
Strong verbal and written communication skills Skilled in SQL statement
tuning with detailed understating of AWR and StatsPack reports, database
performance tuning.
Basic understanding of Connection pooling and middleware software like
JBoss, JRun, Tom Cat, IBM Web sphere is desired.
Hands on Experience of implementing Oracle 10g, 11g and 12c database on
Linux RAC platform is a must.
Willingness to work on-call DBA rotations in a 7x24 environment Ability to
perform professional level technical documentation and presentation.
