This position requires a strong understanding of the business data, source systems and BI technical skills across a variety of BI products. The positions requires the ability to work with business and technology partners across the organization, and an understanding of regulatory issues related to financial information assets. Participates in product development activities related to Business Intelligence, including requirements gathering; logical design and modeling; creation of data abstractions (universes, cubes, etc.) and reports Gathers, reviews and understands project requirements; translating those into data, reporting, analytics requirements and analytic solutions. Performs logical design and modeling Creates specifications for universes, cubes, dashboards, and reports, as needed. Creates universes, cubes, dashboards and reports Analyzes data from multiple internal and external sources Participates in consultative services for business intelligence technology direction and acquisition Consults with business unit resources, application support technicians, vendors and other stakeholders during Due Diligence phase to review project requirements Provides feedback on licensing, level of effort and other impacts in order to assist with completion of project financial and scheduling estimates. Provides escalation (“Tier 3”) support to assist with problem resolution related to report execution, delivery and creation Administration: Participates in various administrative tasks in support of the BI environment Consults with application, database and data modeling resources throughout the design and delivery phases Provides input into documented policies, procedures and standards related to BI processes and databases Understands BI project specifications. Participates in project reviews to provide input on the feasibility of constructing the solution, possible alternatives and conformance to FNNI IT standards. Required Skills: *Maintain a depth and breadth of technical competency related to Business Intelligence so as to be considered a capable technical resource in the following areas: Dimensional data analysis, profiling and modeling. Excellent query building and query optimization skills using T-SQL and MDX. Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL) application design and implementation for moving large volumes of data using SQL Server Integration Services. Very Large Database (VLDB) design, implementation, and optimization using Microsoft SQL Server. *Large MOLAP Cube design and implementation using SQL Server Analysis Services. Design and implementation of scalable SQL Server Reporting Services platforms. Implementation of scalable SharePoint portals that integrate with Reporting Services, PerformancePoint dashboard software, and Excel PowerPivot. Business Objects universe and report design, development and deployment. SAS business analytics software design, development and deployment. Crystal reporting design, development and deployment. Professional Relationships, Communications and Alignment Demonstrate professionalism in the workplace. Build and maintain strong relationships with technology and business partners to facilitate adoption of the Business Intelligence platform. Understand the business and their related systems of record for data and information needs.
