*Location:: Santa Clara, CA *
*Duration:: 12-18 Months Contract *
*Description::*
Oracle DBA with strong Database Administration and System Management
experience for handling one of our mission critical oracle 9i database set
from Automation, Scripting, Alerting/Monitoring, Advance Replication and
Performance Optimization standpoint.
The ideal candidate will be responsible to automate key queries while
preserving the integrity and design of the databases to support
business-critical functionality.
*Role & Responsibilities:*
· Automate DBA and system operations, DB performance analysis, and
application level performance monitoring/alerting of large size databases
up to 5TB.
· Evaluate current Oracle Advanced Replication infrastructure and
automate monitoring and error resolution.
· Advise on the design of the framework to replace Oracle Advanced
Replication with Oracle Golden Gate and entailed data migration strategies.
· Perform periodic data administration and management task, their
automation and monitoring.
· Recommend, develop and execute modifications to database
infrastructure and system performance in order to improve efficiency,
reliability, and performance.
· Ensure adherence to corporate policies and standards to meet
compliance, availability and disaster recovery, act as an escalation point
for project team members to provide issue resolution.
*Qualifications (Key Skills/Education and Experience):*
· BS in CS/EE with minimum 8 years of experience as hands-on Oracle
DBA.
· Strong Experience using Oracle 9i, 11g.
· Excellent understanding/troubleshooting skills of Oracle
technologies and related products used in replication such as Advanced
Replication, Oracle Golden Gate and Oracle Streams.
· Working experience in Oracle Data Guard/Active Data Guard
{standby}.
· Strong experience in Performance Tuning – SQL/Database, use of
AWR/ADDM.
· Well-versed in implementing local recovery and disaster recovery
procedures and experienced with Oracle RMAN for large databases.
· Proven analytical, evaluative, prioritization and problem-solving
abilities, at times ability to execute tasks in a high-pressure
environment.
· Strong experience in scripting languages such as
Shell/Perl/Python/Expect.
· Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
· Highly self-motivated and self-directed, with keen attention to
detail.
· Experience with C++/Java programming languages is good to have.
