*JOB DESCRIPTION:*



*Programmer Analyst *



The Programmer Analyst analyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems,
and devises computer programs, systems and related procedures for the user
environment. He/she evaluates user requests for new or modified computer
programs to determine feasibility and compatibility with current system,
and computer capabilities.



*Job Responsibilities: *

·         Encodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating program and
procedures in coordination with the users. Consults with user(s) to
identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives.
Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop program and submits
plan for user approval.

·         Converts project specifications into sequence of detailed
instructions and logical steps for coding into language processable by a
computer.

·         Analyzes program logic to detect syntax or logic errors during
program tests, or uses diagnostic software to detect errors.

·         Analyzes, reviews, and alters program(s) to increase operating
efficiency or adapt to new user requirements

·         Track and report work hours by project or other pre-defined,
non-project categories.

·         Meet project deadlines and provides regular project status
updates to his/her supervisor.

·         Documents development, logic, coding, and corrections, as
required by Systems Development standards.

·         Monitors performance of program after implementation.

·         Trains users and/or provides technical assistance to
Documentation/Training Specialist, as needed.



*Job Requirements: *

·         Bachelor's Level Degree

·         *Must have Perl competency in a Linux environment *

·         Excellent communications skills: verbal, written and listening

·         Strong analytical and diagnostic skills

·         Good knowledge of appropriate operating system and tools and
appropriate development tools

·         *Scripting, job scheduling, etc *

·         *Good PC literacy and good MS Office skills *

·         Familiarity with web development tools



*Preferred Skills: *

·         Experience in retail industry and retail software a plus

·         C and VB.NET a plus

·         Database expertise, including schema and query capabilities

·         Exposure to Windows Server and MS-SQL a plus.
