an *eCommerce* environment, this is crucial for the role.



Position: Linux Admin

Location: West Chester, PA

Contract: 6+ months

Interview: Will accept non locals, Skype is OK.


*Description:*

*Responsibilities:*

•           Build and maintain infrastructure projects.

•           Perform system administration tasks across the environments

•           Responsible for new system builds and deployments ensuring that
the environment is kept up to date leveraging the best practices within the
industry

•           Build tools for automation of systems administration tasks that
include building servers, storage devices, security and monitoring
infrastructure, and other components of infrastructure

•           Responsible for interfacing with developers and recommending
the best course of action for change management into the production
environment

•           Maintaining non-production environments and ensuring their
consistency/compatibility with the production environment

•           Responsible for knowing and executing BCP/DRP strategy for the
environment

•           Responsible for maintaining documentation of policies and
procedures for various tasks related to the operation of the environments

•           Perform forensics analysis, audits, and other system
administration tasks



*Desired Skills & Experience:*

•           Experience: 7+ years’ experience

•           *Environments: 4+ years’ e-commerce, 2+ years on-call*

*Skills:*

•           Expert experience in *RHEL *platforms

•           Strong knowledge of Linux operating system including scripting,
deployment automation, and general system administration.

•           *Virtualization - VMWare vSphere* - VCP certified or relevant
work experience.

•           Experience with *Puppet configuration management* required

•           Strong knowledge of networking and networking protocols.

•           Strong knowledge of virtual environments *(AIX lpar,
wpar- Linux VMWARE).*

•           Strong knowledge of *Satellite for RHEL* patching.

•           Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes.

•           Ability to quickly find solutions to unfamiliar problems
(research skills).

•           Knowledge of security practices (*PCI-DSS*).

•           Ability to follow change controls and security procedures.

•           Analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot system
problems.

•           Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

•           Willing to work off-hours in an on-call schedule as needed.
Off-hours work will most likely be required.

•           Ability to think outside the box for solutions.

•           Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work.

•           Excellent interpersonal and communications skills

•           Strong scripting experience and proven ability to automate
security and other systems administration tools

•           Strong experience with storage, load balancing, and other
technologies in a high volume, high transaction environment
