*Title: SQL DBA (Only USC OR GC)*

*Location: NYC, NY*

*DISCRIPTION:      *

·         DBA with 5-7 years of experience

·         Must have proven experience managing 100+ servers in a mid to
very large scale database environment

·         Ranging from 250GB to 4TB in size

·         Potential contract-to-hire position

·         Experienced with SQL 2008 R2, 2012 and above, SSIS ETL, SSAS, SSRS

·         Strong analytical and problem solver

·         Able to write fluent T-SQL queries

·         Powershell, C# or .NET scripting is a plus

·         Subject matter expert on database design, performance issues,
disaster recovery, backups and database maintenance

·         DR knowledge with Always On, SQL log shipping, DB mirroring,
Replication

·         Experienced with SQL installation on standalone and cluster
servers

·         Experienced with database migration

·         NoSQL knowledge and database platform are a plus, not a
requirement

·         Team player and able to work independently in a fast-paced
environment

·         Able to support for non-business hours and participate in on-call
rotation



*Requirements:*

·         Apply database utilities,  maintain the relationships between the
database users and applications and maintain the organization's databases
across multiple platforms and computing environments

·         Serve as an independent contributor with expertise in at least
one technical area

·         Participate in the maintenance of existing database systems; work
is primarily systematic and transactional

·         Work effectively as part of a team

·         Administer the database platforms by executing routine processes.

·         Contribute to DBA policies and procedures

·         Informally assist others with problems/issues

·         Solve a range of problems within area of expertise and apply
known toolkit to new problems

·         Apply compliance requirements within scope of responsibility,
provide documentation as necessary, and participate in compliance
activities as required

·         Apply technical expertise and work independently within scope,
receiving moderate guidance and direction from work team and/or manager on
large, new tasks

·         Maintain the enterprise wide database systems; may have primary
responsibility for a specific business line

·         Manage system performance processes and communicates issues to
Architects

·         Participate in capacity planning

·         Manage and test pieces of backup and recovery plans, ensuring
that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning
correctly

·         Control and apply access permissions, privileges and controls to
enforce data security

·         Implement data access objects for internal reporting

·         Apply upgrades to existing database systems, meeting functional
requirements

·         Contribute to the quality control and audits of databases to
ensure accurate and appropriate use of data

·         Responsible for tracking system life cycles and upgrades
