DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR -Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the organization. -Ensuring that the hardware associated with the databases is in proper working order, and to ensure their performance via maintenance and tuning. -Responsible for providing trend analysis to management teams to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. -Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL development. -Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. -Responsible for writing complex SQL queries. -Responsible for creating and evaluating ETL tools. -Work closely with development, vendor and management teams to ensure satisfaction with the data collection, storage and presentation. -OLAP Cube Design. -Responsible for physical database design and implementation performance tuning. -Assist in writing complex stored procedures. -Perform code and design reviews. REQUIRED EDUCATION: -B.S. degree in Computer Science or Information Technology -At least 5 years’ related experience REQUIRED SKILLS, TRAINING, WORK EXPERIENCE: -Experience developing MS-SQL database applications. -Understanding of design/architecture in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. -Strong database administration and operations experience in Microsoft SQL Server environment. -Strong understanding of SQL Server as a developer. -Data modeling, query design and optimization, stored procedures. -Knowledge of the .NET platform and services oriented architecture. -Knowledge related to computer hardware, including networks and storage devices (SANS). -Knowledge of HL7, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008, DB2, Microsoft Active Directory, Visual Basic 6.0 and .NET 2005, SQL stored procedures and database triggers. -In-depth SQL server database administration. -Experience of managing multiple MS SQL 2000, 2005, and 2008 RDBMS. -Experience in implementing and maintaining mirrored databases in co- location facilities. -Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects. -Experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service. -Experience of transactional SQL, and DTS stored procedures. -Experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security. -Strong ability to work with and provide technical assistance to other team members and management team. PREFERRED SKILLS: - Knowledge of computer networking systems, including CISCO routers, switches, and firewalls.
