Job Title: Java/J2ee Developer (Must have JBoss experience) Location: Germantown, MD Duration: 6 Months Contract The successful candidate will be responsible for: . Designing and executing designs for software modules using workflows in a multi-tier web application environment. . Performing daily software development, coding, unit testing, security testing, and COTS configuration and integration including JBoss and Apache configuration. . Conducting application review and hands-on checks to identify, isolate, and document software defects and to resolve defects and issues with development peers and business analysts. . Coordinating discussions with system security personnel to ensure that proposed designs and completed code meet Federal security requirements. . Coordinating discussions with business analysts and business clients to understand new requirements, competing priorities, the scope and impact of proposed changes and/or defect corrections. Successful candidates will work in a fast-paced development environment with new technologies and should have strong adaptive job skills and the ability to juggle multiple, competing priorities. MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Applicants for this position must be able to meet the following criteria: . The candidate must be able to work in the United States legally. . The candidate must be able of obtaining and maintaining a Federal security clearance. . The candidate must demonstrate at least five-years experience performing with Java/J2EE design and development in a multi-tier web application architecture. . The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field or two years of relevant professional experience - in addition to the experience required above - for each year of higher education. . The candidate must demonstrate experience in JSP, EJB, JMS, Java, CSS, JVM, XML, JDBC, SOAP including WSDL use, workflow systems, CVS or SVM, and Eclipse . The candidate must have experience with relational database applications, SQL/PLSQL, and writing stored procedures. . The candidate must have experience testing web applications for functionality, performance, and security. QUALITY RANKING FACTORS Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: . Strong working knowledge of one or more of the following areas: JSP, EJB, JMS, Java, CSS, JVM, XML, JDBC, SOAP including WSDL use, workflow systems, CVS or SVM, and Eclipse. . Experience in JBoss, Weblogic, or WebSphere, including system configuration, server deployment, JDBC connection pool set-up, and Apache server set-up. . Expert-level skills in JBoss Enterprise SOA, Oracle database applications, and/or SQL/PLSQL and stored procedures. . Practical understanding of J2EE principles, processes, and tools. . Practical understanidng of Use Case principles and experience in UML, Visio, or Rational Rose. . A current clearance at a public trust or higher level. . Excellent written and oral communication skills including a demonstrated ability to use these skills to work successfully at all levels within and without the organization. . Strong adaptive skills and a desire and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
