This is a senior position responsible for software analysis, design, and
coding using *C/C++* and *Java *
in an embedded cable television set top box environment. Requires minimal
supervision.
*Technical Skills:*
*·* Proficiency in *Java *and *C/C++*
*·* Proficient with embedded applications/ multi-threaded concepts
*·* Strong knowledge of* OO* design/analysis using *UML*
*·* *JUnit* or equivalent unit testing
*·* Strong knowledge of *XML* and *HTML*
*·* Thorough knowledge of development environments, build systems
and configuration management tools (SVN)
*·* Take the lead role in investigation, diagnosis and resolution
of problems encountered; may include the identification and implementation
of work around or corrective procedures.
*·* Demonstrated technical writing skills in support of software
development
*· * Ability to design and code software optimized to run in an
embedded environment
*Desired Skills & Experience:*
*·* Experience developing *software* on *set top boxes*
*·* Must interface successfully with *engineers* and across *
functional* departments
*·* Work with *minimal supervision*
*·* Applies judgment effectively when solving problems and keeps
subjective information to a minimum
*·* Experience with* agile* development methodologies. *SCRUM*preferred.
*· * Fosters and reinforces open communication between team members
*Education: *Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or
equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management
*Experience: *Four or more years of software design and development
experience based on management discretion.
