Project: Customer needs a senior level ETL developer with 7+ years of
experience to help migrate all of the marketing and sales data from various
sources into a new Real-Time EDW that is being built. The candidate will be
working on moving up to 5 TB into the new environment using Datastage. The
client runs OBIEE and Exalytics/Exadata and any experience with these
technologies will be beneficial but not needed. The candidate must have
excellent communication as they will be working with multiple development
teams.
ETL Developer
Start Date: February 4th
Duration / Extension: 3+ months
Location: Atlanta GA
Day-to-Day:
The DataStage Developer for the Finance/Sales division is responsible for
design and development of ETL software for loading both an online database
and a data warehouse. The position is responsible for all aspects of the ETL
development cycle; ETL design, design review, coding, code review, unit
testing and QA support of the loader software.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
. ETL Development: Multiple project experiences with DataStage with
the ability to communicate design considering using a combination of
DataStage, databases, and UNIX scripting where required. Practical
experience in loading data, troubleshooting mapping, tuning applications,
etc.
. Application tuning: Developing/Optimizing/Performance tuning of
ETL jobs
. Database: Teradata and Oracle stored procedure development.
. Responsible for the interfacing with the database design team and
performance tuning the data loads.
. Serves as a point of escalation for complex issues
. Responsible for estimating new feature development
Required Skills:
. DataStage ( version 9?)
. Oracle 11g,
. Good communication written/verbal
Desired Skills:
. Experience migrating information into an enterprise DW
. 10+ years of experience preferred
