Position: Network Engineer

Description
• The Network Engineer will be responsible for the following areas:
vulnerability analysis, risk analysis, mitigation plans, incident response,
configuration management, and systems security planning. They will have an
in-depth understanding of modern carrier PBN technologies such as IPv6,
QOS, L3 VPN's, DWDM transport, it also includes duties such as e2e security
assessments, leading implementations and mentoring engineers in the
Infrastructure team. Knowledge is required in the areas of security such as
software security systems, including cryptography, certificate authorities,
network security knowledge with network and host-based IPS, firewalls,
Routers & VPN.
• The candidate must possess experience in an enterprise environment,
comprising of 800+ servers, understanding the enterprise architecture and
demonstrate that they can apply the vision and goals of that architecture
with the day-to-day operations support.
Primary Responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and security protocols such as HTTP(S),
networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies
including encryption, IPsec, DES, SMTP, SSH, VPNs (IPseq, BGP/MPLS and
SSL/VPN), firewalls, proxy services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists
• Design & Operation of Core Network (BGP-MPLS-VPN) • Producing High Level
Design and Low Level Design.
• Producing Network Implementation and Standard Operating Procedure Plan.
Knowledge on references and standards of 3GPP, IETF, IEEE, ITU-T, ETSI
relevant to working area.
• M-PBN design and Integration: Design small network solution, Design
reference network solution (PS, Core MSS, charging systems, Signaling/IP,
QoS, O&M), M-PBN integration and troubleshooting
• Experience working with Cisco, Juniper, F5, SmartEdge and Extreme
security appliances, routers, and switches; data leakage prevention and
eDiscovery technologies; familiarity with Active Directory and Radius.
• Design and implement secure infrastructure solutions, including firewall,
IDS/IPS, SIM, vulnerability scanning tools, VPN, wireless, e-mail, AAA,
load-balancer systems and tools.
• Management, troubleshooting, and monitoring of firewalls, intrusion
detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems, log management system,
and data leakage prevention system. • Hands-on experience in network
security, vulnerability assessments, strong understanding of networking and
network protocol analyzers, in-depth knowledge of information security
risks and counter-measures for Windows, Unix/Linux/Solaris platforms.
• Strong working knowledge of IDS/IPS products; experience analyzing
firewall and IPS logs as well as event security logs.
• Monitors security audit and intrusion detection system logs for system
and network anomalies, investigates and/or escalate security violations,
and documents and reports events.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and security protocols such as HTTP(S),
networking protocols and understanding of security related technologies
including encryption, IPsec, DES, SMTP, SSH, VPNs, firewalls, proxy
services, DNS, electronic mail and access-lists
• Design and implement secure infrastructure solutions, including firewall,
IDS/IPS, SIM, vulnerability scanning tools, VPN, wireless, e-mail, AAA,
load-balancer systems and tools.
• Ensures environment is stable and in compliance with Ericsson corporate
security policy.
• Creates/maintains documentation for supported systems; and is highly
involved in DR/Business Continuity Planning.
• Provides enterprise-wide security related reporting at set intervals to
management.
• Provides support for the network team in the form of systems analysis,
troubleshooting, and general coverage when needed.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, and Python as
well as Java.
• Strong system administration and troubleshooting skills in Windows, RHEL
Linux and UNIX (Solaris). Requirements • MS in Computer Science or
Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 5-7 years security engineering experience.
• Possess certification in SANS/GIAC and/or CISSP is a strong plus.
