*Position Title: Oracle Application DBA Location: Alpharetta, GA Job Duration: 3-6 month contract (possibility for extension) Phone and Skype* *About the Company: *Company is in the midst of a critical Finance project - transitioning from one GL to another. In January 2015 Oracle GL will become the core GL for the organization and SUN GL will be decommissioned. As we move to a new general ledger platform, including the Financial Accounting Hub (FAH), accounts payable, fixed assets, payments, and GL, the organization is seeking to optimize the reporting functionality across a range of new tools (Oracle Financial Analytics, Essbase and Hyperion Financial Reports) as well as continuing to leverage off existing tools (HFM & Hyperion Planning) in a bid to develop more business benefits. This project position, within the Finance Systems team, will be pivotal in 1) supporting the primary Oracle DBA and take responsibility for all Oracle EBS Application DBA tasks 2) leading the performance tuning efforts within Oracle EBS R12 tables, views, queries associated with the Real Time Reporting solution being deployed, and 3) leveraging alternate solutions like Active Data Guard in relation to performance tuning of the Real Time reporting solution. It will require close working relationships with the project team members in Dublin and Alpharetta, and the Central IT Infrastructure team. *KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * 1. Performance Tuning of the Real-time reporting solution • Gain full understanding of the tables, views and queries within Oracle EBS being used for Real Time Reporting • Analyze the data being produced by the RT Reporting queries and provide recommendations for performance tuning • Execute the recommended solutions and drive the performance testing efforts • Coordinate with Oracle support, where necessary for implementing the recommended performance tuning solutions • Create and test install scripts or migration scripts for migrating the recommended solutions to the Production environment • If and when Active Data Guard is implemented, provide a supporting role in the installation and the implementation of the Active data Guard solution and tie that to the performance tuning exercise 2. Support the lead Oracle DBA from Central IT Infrastructure team on ongoing Oracle DBA and Apps DBA activities, including but not limited to patching, replication and closing, backup and recovery, etc. *Basic Qualifications: * Requires a bachelor's degree At least 3 years of experience as an Oracle Applications DBA with Oracle EBS Release 12.1.3 or higher At least 3 years of experience working in Oracle 11g Databases Rich performance tuning experience and skills in production and non-production environments, including strong understanding of database tuning and diagnostics Very good understanding of the Oracle EBS R12.1.3 tables structures and data models specific to GL, Sub ledger accounting layer, AP and FA Shell and Perl Scripting Experience in installation, implementation and monitoring of Oracle Active Data Guard technology in an Oracle EBS R12 environment Experience in working with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) Good knowledge on Oracle SQL and PL/SQL Workflow, monitoring OEM/ grid control etc., RAC, ASM, monitor instances locks, long running queries, listener, free space, extents growth/space management etc. Oracle Apps Patching, TNS connectivity, OCM management and troubleshooting Cloning, Autoconfig, Apps System Administration, Patching Adherence to processes, change control, and understanding the importance of documentation is required *Desired Qualifications: * § Experience in working with global teams across multiple time zones § Requires good communication skills, both oral and written § Requires strong attention to detail and accuracy in work products § Experience as an EBS R12 Apps DBA in an environment with OBIEE is a plus *Regards,* *Ishan Salaria Sr. Technical Recruiter VSG Business Solutions* *221 Cornwell Dr,Bear, DE 19701* *Contact No: 302-261-3207 Ext: 102* *Email: is...@vsgbusinesssolutions.com <kail...@vsgbusinesssolutions.com>* -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle Developers" group.
