*Position : .Net Developer Duration : 6-12 Months Location : Atlanta, GA * *Interview : Phone then Face to Face * *Job Description :* • This position will work with teams of software developers that analyze, estimate, design, code, test, and support applications and enterprise integrations that address business requirements. • The developer will assist the teams through the application life cycle for new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions, and the integration of these solutions into the current Southern Company environment. • The position is also expected to aggressively manage development effort costs through careful project estimation practices. • The software developer should demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency in the area of enterprise software development. • The position is also expected to ensure all software development projects adhere to Southern Company's Application Development guidelines and meets and/or exceeds quality expectations. • In addition, the developer is expected to support an on-call rotation team that provides 24/7 assistance. The software developer should be an excellent troubleshooter and a self-starter. • Some the recent exciting development efforts have been a mobile web application design tool for non-developers, UI redesign of our enterprise access control system, and number of native applications for iOS and Android devices. *Job Responsibilities:* • Develop and/or implement timely, cost effective, and high quality business solutions to meet customer needs, using approved methodologies and standards • Provide root cause analysis, efficient production support and maintenance / enhancements for existing applications • Build and maintain relationships with peers, staff, management, other IT groups, and vendors • Apply strong oral and written communication skills; apply strong customer service and negotiating skills; exhibit initiative; follow through with customer commitments; and apply sound performance techniques • Support project planning by providing accurate estimates and status reports and by meeting deliverables • Manage personal career development by maintaining technical expertise and developing Southern Style Leadership characteristics • Participate in special projects/assignments. This may include mobile development efforts and technology evaluations. *Job Requirements:* • Knowledge and understanding of software development technologies, methodology and associated tools • *Advanced knowledge of C# and the .NET framework * • Deep experience working with *either Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle.* • Experience with *Microsoft Reporting Services* • Understanding of service oriented architectures • N-tier application architecture experience using the *.NET platform* • Working knowledge of application architectures (Web, Client Server, Command Line, Databases, etc.) • Candidate must have strong analytical and problem solving skills • Demonstrated technical writing skills. *Job Competencies* • Awareness of energy industry trends, opportunities and challenges. • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Ability to negotiate and influence others • Ability to function independently and as a team member • Demonstrate understanding and application of Southern Style attributes • Proven analysis and problem-solving skills • Ability to learn new approved technologies and apply them • Ability to design and communicate enterprise level solutions • *Advanced knowledge of the following software development technologies:* · Microsoft C# .NET · JavaScript + JQuery + AJAX · Web Services · XML schema definition and processing (XSD, XPath, XSLT) • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
