Reply to vi...@rposervices.com Role: Sr.SQL DBA Location: Westport, CT Duration:8 Months *Job Description*: - Upgrade and migrate SQL server databases to SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012 - Install and configure new SQL Servers - Detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU,memory,I/O, disk space and other resource contention - Build and configure high-availability SQL Server clusters - Perform and manage SQL server database backups - Use SQL server tools like Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, and system sprocs *Required skills* - 10 or more years of experience as a Microsoft SQL Server DBA - Experience includes SQL Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2012 - SQL Server and Windows Server security configuration and management - Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues * Job Level Specific Duties* • Performs as a technical subject matter expert in the development of highly complex, innovative and cost effective database solutions. • Plans and manages implementation and integration of new technologies. • Provides ultimate direction for multiple projects and is responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems. • Acts as a consultant to development groups, technical teams, executives and customers. • Recognized regionally and internally as a technical and subject matter expert in a specialized field. • Provides expertise and guides work on complex database systems of great scope with advanced technical complexity that may have global impact. • Establishes quality standards relative to all aspects of database management. • Independently develops database systems as innovative solutions to previously undefined business / user needs. • Evaluates and certifies database technologies, while assisting in the management of vendor relationships and the definition of vendor product feature sets. • Ensures database security controls meet internal and external audit and compliance requirements. • Implements database technologies for global standards, data classification, and data privacy according to regulatory guidelines. . *Skills* • Possesses and applies advanced knowledge of database principles and practices. • Advanced knowledge of database definition, design, and configuration. • Knowledge derived from extensive design leadership experiences with non-traditional database systems. • Regarded as consultant to the business on database programs and strategies. • Advanced oral, written and customer service skills. • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. -- Thanks & Regards!
