*Job Description::*
-This person will play a driving role in the development and maintenance of
new and existing Cognos reports and dashboards.
*Responsibilities-*Develop and maintain new Cognos Reports/Dashboards using
SQL, Analysis Studio, Active Reports, Data Mart and PowerCubes as sources.
-Create and maintain existing PowerCubes using Cognos Transformer.
-Create and maintain existing Cognos Planning Packages.
-Manage multiple ad hoc requests with extremely short deliverable
turnaround times
-Understand and drive business processes, data requirements and how the
data flows through the systems.
-Design, code and implement the best solution for customer’s needs.
-Recommend alternative solution choices, determining trade-offs and impact
analysis.
-Independently perform development, testing, implementation, documentation
and updating as it relates to Cognos software and system administration.
-Perform quality assurance and unit testing on deliverables and work
products.
-Provide Technical documentation and training materials for end-users.
*Skills and Qualifications-*Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering or
equivalent.
-Cognos certification required.
-A minimum of 5 years of overall IT development experience with at least 4+
years of experience in Cognos Suite of Products 10.1 (or greater) including
-Cognos Report Studio, Cognos Query Studio, Cognos Active Reports, Cognos
Transformer, and Cognos Planning.
-Must possess a thorough understanding of a technical reporting
environment and business requirements.
-Previous experience in SQL Reporting and debugging Cognos Reports required.
-Enterprise-level reporting integration experience involving
business-critical systems.
-Ability to deliver IT solutions using Agile (Scrum) project methodology
and practices.
-Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
-Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively
communicate technical issues and resolve problems.
-Strong ability to analyze problems in detail and develop creative solutions
