Job Title * System Admin* Location *VA-Virginia/Mclean* Duration 6 *Months / contract* MOI *Tel +Skype* · *Skills:* Linux Administration; Ansible, Apache, New Relic, AWS; Docker, Terraform, Git, Splunk(or similar tool); System, Monitoring experience · *Summary:* The DevOps Engineer's role centers on keeping strategic systems and related services operating at high levels. This role is responsible for ensuring that our platforms operate at high levels of availability and to provide first tier support for applications used by our external customers. *Responsibilities* · • Manages the day-to-day operations of systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software. • Works with a team to assist support activities. • Performs troubleshooting as required. Leads problem-solving efforts often involving internal and external support personnel. • Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on servers. Provides server support related to other software. • Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of computer operating systems, storage, and networks. • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission critical host computer resources. • Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse. • Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications. • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology.
