Provides technical expertise in designing, delivering, and supporting
database solutions for business requirements.
• Requires ability to work effectively on independent projects, as well as
in cooperation with a variety of customers and other technical
professionals.
• Provides technical service to plan/build/run application teams, as well
as supporting the Client environment in conjunction with outsource
providers.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
• Prioritize tasks, resolve problems, designs solutions.
• Participates in strategy discussions, manages technical components of
projects, and has knowledge within area of functional responsibility.
• Design, implement, and support technical solutions that address business
requirements.
• Work cooperatively with technical personnel in other divisions and
functions to accomplish enterprise-wide goals.
• Identify and implement process improvements in the infrastructure of
existing systems.
• Remain up to date on new and emerging technologies within area of
technical expertise.
• Ability to understand and assist in evolution and/or integration of
Client applications

• Professionalism in dealing with peers and end-users in varied scenarios
• Expertise in trouble-shooting and resolution of production problems and
issues as they arise - addressing technical challenges.
• Ability to work off-hours for system upgrades, emergencies.
• Demonstrable experience with change management processes and procedures.
• Experience in using RMAN and DataGuard
• Familiar with Oracle Enterprise Manager
• Knowledge of Oracle partitioning, ability to create and maintain
partition scripts using UNIX scripting, SQL and PL/SQL techniques
• Experience with Oracle database upgrades and application of quarterly
Oracle CPU patches
• Experience with active/passive Clustering and replication products,
Tivoli and other monitoring tools
• Proactive database system monitoring: CPU, memory and disk utilization
• Practical experience in database replication, backup and recovery
• Ability to implement scripts for backup, disaster recovery and integrity
checks
• Intimate knowledge of Oracle and ANSI SQL
• Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems
• Experience of working in a team that delivers a high availability service.
• Oracle Certified Professional preferred.
• Knowledge of following technologies is a plus:
• Oracle application Server
• Microsoft SQL Server
• ASM
• Databases supporting ERP systems
*Basic Minimum Qualifications:*
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
experience required,
• 5+ years in a large Oracle technical environment
• Knowledge of Oracle 11g is required.
• Knowledge of UNIX, UNIX scripting, Oracle physical database organization
• Versatile in reading and writing Oracle procedural language: packages,
stored procedures, user defined functions
• Experience in performance tuning , including performance tuning of user
ad-hoc queries
• Practical experience in database replication using Golden Gate, backup
and recovery
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide high
availability service.
• Working knowledge of Oracle RAC, and if possible, experience working on
Engineered systems
