Description:
• Responsible for BI platform administration and implementation of BI best
practices within the IT development organization specific to Microstrategy.
• Identify Performance optimization opportunities by collaborating with
database and development teams.
• Fine tuning MicroStrategy projects, cubes, reports and the configuration
settings at each level.
• Investigate and resolve various issues such as platform, reporting and
application security related.
• Manage and execute MicroStrategy platform upgrades including major and
minor patch releases.
• Develop best practices around managing MicroStrategy-specific memory
caches, including intelligent cubes and report caches.
• Promote MicroStrategy development objects (such as metadata and reports)
from Development environments to QA and Production environments, using the
MicroStrategy Object Manager.
• Perform necessary backups of MicroStrategy objects like projects,
reports, and metadata, as part of backup and object promotion strategies.
• Automate support and maintenance tasks such as content migrations, report
scheduling, user management, environment backups, etc.
• Serve as a technical support contact for MicroStrategy and work with
MicroStrategy Support to resolve platform-related issues which need
MicroStrategy assistance.
• Work on BI solutions with other MicroStrategy specialists as necessary,
including business analysts, developers, and database architects.
Requirements:
• MicroStrategy administrative skills, including management of users,
licensing, security, in-memory caches, email subscriptions, backups,
metadata, reports, and deployments.
• MicroStrategy Reporting Services with Report Development skills, Design
of schema objects such as attributes, hierarchies, and transformations.
• Expertise in MicroStrategy tools such as Architect/Developer/Desktop,
Object Manager, Enterprise Manager, Integrity Manager, System Manger and
Narrowcast server scheduling tool.
• Expertise in performance tuning of reports using VLDB settings.
• Expertise in MicroStrategy Mobile configuration.
Qualifications:
• MicroStrategy Certification - preferred MicroStrategy dataset and
document/dashboard development.
• Complex report-writing, query-authoring, and dashboard design.
• Ability to read, write, debug, and tune SQL.
• Metadata modeling and management, including definitions/relationships of
dimensions, metrics/key figures, and hierarchies
