*Location : * *NJ-New Jersey/ClarkDuration : 12+ months contract * JD: • The scientific computing group is looking for an individual that can help build data analysis automation applications by working with our clients scientists that are inventing new products. • Excellent opportunity to gain hands-on industrial experience while working in a highly dynamic innovative research environment. Required Skills: • Quantitative background, such as engineering/technology with high emphasis on data driven analytics, algorithms, and software development • R programming is a MUST with good programming practices, GUI / interactive user input/output development to develop custom applications • Deep interest and problem solving mindset in processing large data in variety of formats via customized parsing/filtering/grouping • Strong motivation to work with scientists/chemists/biologists to help them automate/improve data analyses. • Strong motivation to work in applied research environment where software development transforms ideas into products • Collaborative mindset, diligence, attention to details, and results driven approach • Experience with Perl/Python/Linux shell scripting Experience with database search/query/retrieval using SQL, etc. Highly Desired Skills: • Design and implementation of variety of machine learning/pattern recognition algorithms such as clustering, decision trees • Experience with other data analysis tools such as MATLAB, SAS, XLSTAT, etc. • Sample size/power calculation estimations, hypothesis testing, ANOVA, etc. • Some coursework in chemistry, biology, biotechnology Exposure to lab instrumentation data.
