*Role: Sr. SQL DBA Location: Minneapolis MN Length: 6 months Hollstadt /** Delta Minneapolis* *Rate:$50/hr on C2C Max* *Qualifications:* • 8 Years’ experience administering SQL Server databases, running on Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012R2, • Proven track record of administering databases in SQL Server versions 2008/2012/2014/2016, • Proven track record of administering SQL Server databases in a challenging, deadline-driven environment, • Strong experience with Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools and other SQL Server features, • Strong experience in applying Service Packs, and ability to troubleshoot errors encountered during the process, • Experience with performing database backups and restores/recoveries, • Experience with running SQL Server database on Virtual Machines (VMWare) helpful, • Experience with building and administering SQL Server High Availability functionality (SQL Clustering, Always on Availability, Replication, and Log Shipping), • Experience with setting up and administering SCOM, • Experience with setting up and administering SQL Server security, • Experience with administering and upgrading SQL 2005/2008 to currently supported versions, • Experience with database performance testing and tuning, user configuration, security and support processes including gathering statistics, • Experience in Powershell scripting to help in database administration tasks helpful, • Ability to provide technical direction to others, including application developers, • Ability and willingness to follow established IT / DBA policies and procedures required, • 4-year degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience in a related field of study *Job Overview: * Responsible for administration and maintenance of the SQL Server database platform at Delta, including DBMS software and related tools. *Perform Essential Duties (*): * • Patching database software to the designated support level, • Maximizing database availability and performance to meet/exceed SLA’s, • Identifying opportunities for performance improvements, cost reductions and process improvements, • Providing database performance tuning, security, and database backup/recovery, • Assisting other infrastructure teams in completing upgrade and improvement tasks and projects, • Following established IT / DBA policies and procedures, • Coordinating downtime with application teams and system engineers to implement approved changes, • Interface with Software Vendors to answer questions or resolve performance issues, • Ensure the detailed physical design of data structures and database complies with enterprise build and configuration standards and processes, • Coordinate with system engineers to configure servers for SQL Server product installation and database creation, • Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server software on database servers as required.
