Hello again, all,
Well, I tried FBI, but it says I'm not in a console. Is the console the same thing as a desktop? If not, does Oralux have a console feature? Also, what was the name of that other viewer, Gilles?
Nigel, I used "xinit" and "xmd". The former gets me into X, in some kind of shell, but I can't seem to start Gnome or Gnopernicus. I'm going to try xdm again when I can redownload Gnome again since I got into a bind yesterday and had to totally reinstall Oralux.
Another question: When I do a cdrecord to write a CD, then go back and try to look at the resulting CD, the drive can't read it; I type "ls /mnt/cdrom" and either get "/mnt/cdrom/" in response or the thing just sits there doing nothing until I finally just hit C-c to get out of it (or C-c twice in emacs). The cdrecord command I'm using is "cdrecord dev=0,0,0 -data <track1 track2 ... trackN. Should I be doing this differently, and/or is there a better program than cdrecord?

Thanks,
TErrence
