Terrence: if you want fast rewind or forward there aren't only the arrows keys,
with arrows left/right you can skip 10seconds at once, with arrows up/down you
can skip 1minute at once, with Page Up/Page Down you can skip 10minutes at
once. (last option is usually used with video files).
Take a look on help or man pages, mlpayer is very powerfull.
