Well, I got another dec-talk serial number--and I think its working, but yes
dec-talk speech on a laptop is quite choppy. While it says, "welcome to oralux
0.6" it never mentions my running dec-talk software.
Now, when running y a s r the cursor tracking in the menu is strange. Many
times in the options menu, if I ARROW DOWN< I hear nothing, but arrowing
up-and-down again, I get more choices. I have no idea how in that menu to save
my choices, such as punctuation, cursor tracking, key echo, ETC. Also, I did
not see any way of turning off numbers, so I would hear single digits?
God forbid, if while in the y a s r menu, if I hit space-bar on emacs speech
Speech drops dead--and at very least, I must restart oralux
server, maybe thats an only working option, but I wanted to cycle through all
the choices.
I trust I don't have many items configured correctly to fully enjoy my
experience in oralux-and-y a s r, so I wonder if there's any1 I can
phone-and-receive some live guideance?
Would I get better sound from dec-talk software if I actually were really
running linux on this laptop with y a s r, instead of through an emacs server?
Thanks so much in advance for tips--and posible live guideance from here in
Southern Cal
